Knowing My Age

Hi All.

Im doing this on behave of my Dad.

He purchased a HJ45 ute many years ago, but not if it was. So now he would like to know the age of the beast.

My question is, are there a way from the chassis / engine number that can tell the year the ute was made. I know if it was a Land rover (so to mention) the chassis / engine tell it all, year/type/SN
