So finally got to the bottom if my long standing idling and running rough problem.
The LPG has burnt out the valves.
LPG was fitted from new, no flash lube system fitted till 3 years ago.
To end rebuild it is.

Does anyone know where to get the inlet and exhaust valves from except mr T

That's bad news.

I should be able to get them if you need them.

Hi.
Can you give me a price on all 32 and shipping time. Cheers

That's bad news :icon-cry: how did you find out - compression test?
Have you got it apart yet to see if the valve seats are burnt as well - will you have to take the heads off?

My mechanic did a compression test.
drivers side bank all running at 175 ish psi, passenger bank, 0,0,50,50.
It has been idling roughy for a long while now, but recently it lost a lot of power, cut out when driving and some times ran super lumpy and as if I was driving into a strong head wind.
Top is coming off tonight, I'm pretty sure the heads will be off over the weekend.
225k miles on the clock, she hasn't done bad I think

Going well.
Engine is stripped down, cams look like new, everything else looks good.
Have a but if valve seat damage to the worst 2 cylinders which have been machine ground now.
Mall the valves are ground into the heads, waiting for the gaskets. Should have arrived Thursday but still not here yet.
Bought Toyota valves (32) from the USA as they were Half the price delivered, and in less time too.
Will try to upload some pics later

Are the followers hydraulic & shimmed or adjustable?
Mine are a bit noisy & I'm wondering how easy it is to adjust them.

Well the moment of truth was last night....
started first turn of the key ran perfectly no hunting. No problems.
Changing plugs and oil now quick test run and I should have her back by Saturday

Mechanic has run her for the day out and about. She's as sweet as a nut.

Jet done 250 miles on petrol. Trouble free. Ticks over perfectly, pulls like a train.
Fire up the Lpg and that works fine too. Happy days

Great job
I remember a few years ago when I might have attempted a job like that myself!
There seem just too many parts to mix up now!

Hope that's it for another 100,000 miles at least!
