Hi Max, You've got a big job on there, I'll be watching your progress with interest, I wouldn't go as far as Clive and say it's ugly but it's certainly not the prettiest Toyota (I'm an 80 man myself but I wouldn't call mine pretty either)

My "ugly" comment was a matter of relativity really, 40s are just damn cute as well as tough, 60s more refined, the 80 IMO was the pinnacle, transforming through the 100 series to the modern 200 as we know it to date.

Admittedly, I've spoiled the classic looks of my 80, but I still love it. Yours Chas simply has character! :icon-wink:

I thought it was 'Patina' Chas?

Hi love the old fj55 keep the pics coming thanks tonytoyota.

I think it's cool looking, love the front end. Hope it's going well, quite a project but you are off to a good start!

Hi Max,

This thread seems to have gone cold...

Any update on this iron pig restoration?

Photos?

Love the 55’s Max - looks like you have made a good start.
I hope the parts are available for you to get it how you want it - interior especially.

Yes an update would be great but it seems @Maxoffroad may not be a member here anymore as doing the @ bit usually brings up a name and this time it didn’t.

Shame if it’s the case as there was some seriously excellent work going on.
