I have done some 10k Africa overland through Nigeria, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo and Benin.

I have done that with a LC 100 VX V8. No mods. No issue at all. Some good tires (Michelins AT or BFG AT). Some spares with me which I never needed. A Waeco fridge (good for some cold beers). And the normal stuff for camping. I had (have) 2 spare tires and a tow band (hoist band) for emergencies. Some tools, hoses, duct tape and tie raps. That's it

Thanks for those interesting pics Evan, what was the prob with the 80? I was always sure 100's were up to the job:thumbup:

The 80 had consistent issues with the fuel pump. We even drained the tank to get all the shit out. The diesel in that part of the world is not always fantastic [emoji31]

It's a shame that that part of the world also has its security issues. But it is fantastic to travel through

As Andy said interesting photos, Ed. Thanks for posting.

Sadly, seems the plague has a grip on Africa

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

Very nice indeed, you certainly attracted some attention from the villagers!

The 80 in "that gold" has the rear ambulance doors, just like mine Ed :icon-biggrin:

How'd they get a cow up there?

You certainly have talent with a camera Evan , there is nothing more interesting than people , and as is the way of things , nothing more boring than people posing for the camera . I can almost imagine being there with you

Stunning shots. Did you run that guy over with the spare wheel :)
