    Front to rear brake pipes.

Oh well sounds like they do then. This is going to be expensive. We all know what is going happen to those tank mount bolts when they go to undo them. Thanks Karl for looking much appreciated. I will be going down to the garage in the morning so no need to take another look tomorrow.

    Front to rear brake pipes.

Yep brakes working fine. That’s what makes it harder to believe what they are saying. I have just replaced the rear calliper and it bled up fine.

    Front to rear brake pipes.

Not sure. It’s an LC4 but I am sure the brake pipes don’t go over the fuel tank and the tester has mistaken fuel lines for brake lines. I know still MOT fail but I guess not a bad leak as no puddles on the drive of either liquid.

    I'm back.

Thank you. Yes Chris a real blast from the past. Tony I do miss that 95 we had a lot on miles together. And Steve I take it I have just missed a Lincombe weekend?

    Front to rear brake pipes.

Well the 120 failed MOT today and garage not letting me have it back unsafe to drive. Brake pipe leaking apparently and he is telling me has to drop tank to fix. Now i have not gone under there looking at brake pipes but aren’t the pipes routed the same as a 95 down the chassis over the axle to...

Viscous Fan - I think mine is always "on"?

Never grab the fan even if it is not working, my mate lost the top of his little finger when he accidently toched mine........ The fan works by moving fluid arround in chambers inside the fans clutch increasing the drag as the temprture rises thus making the fan run faster. The viscous fan is...

Re: Toyota Landcruiser ZX Landcruiser Automatic Station Wago Hi Richard and welcome, I hope that I am not teaching you how to suck eggs here but the oil level should be checked with the engine running and the oil up to temperature. From 'Park' go slowly through all the gears and back up to...

BFG KM2 - rotation and wear.

I take mine to my freindly Mr T in Yeovil to be done, he does groan when he sees my truck booked in for tracking. As you, I have a 40mm lift and this does push the limits a bit but he has managed to set mine up absolutely spot on. It makes a huge difference when set up properlly the drive is...

OT - Can you please identify this type of wood?

My brother in- law got his charts out and we recon that it is most likely Sapele (Mahogany) Entandrophragma-cylinricum. This wood would give you the colour variations as seen in your floor and if you are looking at doing some restoration to the floor then this is the wood to go for. If it was...

Getting the best from your hand brake

Well then guys, I am still working on this but today I think that I am getting closer. One of the big problems that I have found is that when the hand brake is applied you use all the cable. Which is why I am using these photos from steve as you can clearly see this. Today I fitted some shims...

    4.5 D-4d twin turbo - oil use?

I thought that it was common knowledge that the D4D had issues with injectors etc. There has been a problem with all of them from the Rav4 up. I know that on the smaller D4D's there has been a re-call fro injectors and I know that Local Toyota dealer has even done complete engine changes under...

    Transmogrification of a 90

A bit after the event this, but if you are interested Tony the guys at where I got my Exhaust from (Long Life of Amesbury) make bespoke air cleaner and filter systems. Lincomb, May 2012

here in Dorset at the moment it is windy and raining constantly. For me personally I would not mind a restricted weekend as the people and atmosphere are what make it. And may be we could do some extreme recovery and assistance in the woods that are accessible. I would be prepared to do this for...

Olazz, Just a quick thought have the lights been wired up in series instead of parralel, the easiest way to find out is if you were to remove the bulb from one light does the other one go out. If it does then it has been wired up in series and this could be the problem and give you the reading...

    Boot Box in my 95

You are not wrong there the hardest bit was continually earning enough Brownie points with Mrs N to get out to the workshop and, as she saw it, sit down and do nothing  They just don't understand the engineering process, a lot of thinking has to take place before, during and after...

    Boot Box in my 95

It was just the shortest route. I have run a 200 amp cable from the battery side of my winch electronic isolation switch which is on the right hand side of the bulkhead under the bonnet. As the easiest grommets to get to are just underneath that switch to allow access to the cabin it made sense...

    MOT how to pass

Gents, Today I took the old girl for her MOT and I am pleased to say that she past with no problems. So why tell you that. Well here is the thing, couple of weeks ago the Brake compensator valve spring had snapped. Toyota do not sell the spring as a individual item and I was not going to pay...

Improving brakes in general and braided hoses

By bridging out certain terminals in the diagnostics plug under the bonnet and driving a certain speed over a certain distance the ECU will look at the system and via flash codes using the ABS light let you know what it finds. In my case it noticed a low voltage return from my O/S/F...

Improving brakes in general and braided hoses

Reference your ABS light, That means that the ECU has seen a problem and that it has put it self into a safe mode ie turning the ABS off. No, All you have are the 4 door speakers which as you say make a really good noise. Pay & Play Day run by the Army at Tidworth, December.

The worst thing about the 'Plain' is the flint....if you are not careful it can be a tyre muncher, make sure you have your spare with you I will be as bold as to say that with this many of us on the plain I would expect to see two or three of us with punctures. Steve
