That's really helpful - thanks.
I've had a look at a few cables on Amazon for £25-35 and they pretty much all say up to Windows 7. I have Windows 10, so not sure what to do on that one.
Also, is there an option to plug something in which will talk bluetooth to my phone for readings on the go...
Following up on a previous post, how do I read the fault codes from my 2005 prado?
I don't have a gizmo for this, so what's recommended (keep it inexpensive please)
I'm in the UK so prefer to buy from a UK supplier :)
The ABS light in my FJ120 comes on occasionally. Usually for the whole (short) journey, or else it goes off 5 mins after starting, or else comes on 5 mins after starting.
Haven't found a pattern but when it is on, the ABS definitely isn't working.
No light = ABS is fine.
Cheers.I suspect they’re old as the service history on the car is pretty non existent so probably worth a swap anyway.
Can you explain your comment ‘If you do buy new batteries, you'll need a 334/335 as they're different on each side.’ ?
Good tip - I'm dropping it off at the garage shortly for a service and a couple of other bits. I'll get the mech to check the alternator first.
I've only had it for four weeks so could be other stuff needs doing....!
Pics on pre-ignition below - which I think are okay.
Thanks all - solved. Yes there is a button on the end of the wiper stalk specifically for headlamp washing.
My other cars all did it automatically when washing the windscreen, so that's a new one on me.
My 2005 LC3 doesn't have a headlamp washer switch.
However, the front bumper does have the little covers for the washers, and if pulled out the nozzle is there and it retracts back in on a spring of some kind.
Did they just fit the nozzles as standard whether or not the car had the...
Cool! How far back was that?
I suspect a lot of changes since then.
I've only been here 6 years but already feels like home :)
I might tap into you for rumours and history on some of the long term residents
Thanks. The gear lever moves into H just fine, and when it does eventually drop out of lock it happens without me jiggling the lever any more, so maybe not a 'get a feel for it' kind of thing, I'll keep practicing!!
Thanks for that. I’m popping in to the spanner man next week anyway so I’ll ask him to do the transfer oil.
I was hoping it would drop out of lock without having to stop the car, let alone rolling backwards :). The manual suggests you can put in and out of lock while driving - as the conditions...
I've just bought a FJ129 2005 LC3 manual diesel, with 110k on the clock, and trying everything out...
It goes into HL fine while driving, but when I put it back to H the diff light stays on for 3-5 minutes every time. Stopping and restarting doesn't help,
I've read that reversing...
I'm Charles, based in Kings Cliffe, a village near to Stamford and Peterborough, UK.
Just bought a 2005 FJ120 3L LC3.
I run the village conservation and footpath volunteer team, and my old V70 was beginning to complain about farm tracks and fields so went for something more appropriate.
