i ordered replacement front anti roll bar bushes from Amayama. As with the diff locker the delivery has got messed up. they got as far as clearing customs in the uk, and now they are in new york, usa. go figure.

Oil and filter change, Toyota oil filter. Mannoil 10w 40 semi synthetic oil again.

Changed the Bosch fuel filter out for a Toyota one. Nice that it was only hand tight.

Gravity bled front brakes., ordered set of front brake pads for the shelf, one new brake pad slide pin (to replace a bolt that was fitted at some time in it's past), 2 of the wires that stop the slide pins coming out, and one bottom wire clip that was missing drivers side front.

Replaced front brake pads. would have been better if i had started 30 minutes earlier. ended up making a makeshift tent to finish the job off when the heavens opened.

Just arranging insurance. NFU came in at £200 a year cheaper than A flux for me. Also they answer the phone and not getting put on hold for an hour was nice as well.

Was away last week - just to keep all posted paid on 20th june, diff locker was delivered to the house on monday 24th june so much better

seems to be working much better. just set delivery with dhl and paid for import duty and vat £110.7 - so still a fair bit cheaper than buying via roughtraxx. delivery should be by tuesday

just paid for shipping this time with DHL so hopefully things will run more smoothly this time. originally we used their cheaper shipping solution.

So the diff lock from amayama got as far as uk customs. and then it sat for a week. the next update from their shipping service indicates it has been returned to UAE. most odd. no attempt by local post office to deliver and local postman who i know has had nothing for me either.

Rear locker. Woke up today with the thought i should buy a new locker so have done that from Amayama. Once that arrives I will strip the old and see if i can get it working, it can always live on the parts shelf for now.

I had done. i have just downloaded the virtual box with techstream from iha8mud. and with the new mini vci lead it connected, and had in automatically filled in model and engine - which none of the other versions had done. It also correctly interrogated all the ecus so I am pleased with that...

The wiring/pins at the ODB port appear OK. i also swapped the OBD fuse for good measure. I have hooked up a carista dongle and can read the ecus, also using carscanner i can read data from the sensors. so at a loss right now as to what is afoot.

Disconnected batteries for an hour, then tried once more. same story - can access the car with techstream but cannot access any of the modules with the Nano, nor the new Mini vci cable.

Hmmm, so i have tried the vcx nano on another toyota and it connect fine. as does the new mini vci cable that just arrived. neither the Nano nor the mini vci will interrogate any module on the landcruiser. might have to try a different model year and see if that sorts it, or perhaps disconnect...

Jimny's are great fun. This is mine when i had it after i sorted out the wheels and suspension and baselined it. Made a nice hand throttle out of a shimano gear changers mounted to the side of the gear stick. worked really well.
