Many thanks, it’s down as deposit taken so guess I’ve just missed out on that one. Is ~3.8k about the right price for one in that condition then ? Looks very original but extremely rusted

Wow thanks for the detailed reply Bob, that’s a good shout to be honest, was the new fuel pick up very expensive?

    Colorado heating and running problems

Hi all, bit of diagnosis/solutions to this: I put an in-line clear fuel filter and found that the starting problem is the diesel draining back to the tank over time. The fuel lines are quite rusty so I’ve ordered new fuel hoses which should cure it. The thermostat was blocked up with its own...

    Colorado heating and running problems

I've had a read of that thread which is quite informative, hope I don't have a cracked head though?! Thread Link below if anyone is interested https://www.landcruiserclub.net/community/threads/cooling-the-1kz-te-motor.130304/ I think the auto cooler is bypassed but I'll check, and the engine...

    Colorado heating and running problems

Hi Shayne, tanks for the reply, I have lots of blue and pink for my other vehicles but am not familiar with red... It is an Auto yes, and has had a separate oil cooler added already by a previous owner.

    Colorado heating and running problems

Hi all, For a few months I've had a intermittent oil temp warning light that comes on after 5mins for a few seconds. The engine tempts normal so put it down to dodgy sensor. Most recently The front heater matrix doesn't seem to get warm anymore and now more worryingly after starting up the...

A Thud when dropping the Clutch

I had a similar thing a few yeas ago with a RRC and it was a broken engine mount so check those and the gearbox mounts. Would also suggest jacking up the wheel(s) and trying to establish if the driveline has excessive play in diffs/uj's/transfer box.

    Landcruiser LJ70 external roll cage

Hi all, i've just put my old LJ70 roll cage on ebay. as detailed in the listing it's a bit tatty but solid, and would cost a fortune to fabricate from new so grab a bargain! cash on collection from Uttoxeter or i may be able to deliver it, message me on ebay and let me know you're a LC club...

Putting a workshop in the garden...

Thanks for the responses guys, some really good points. It's 32ftx3m so would less than 30m^2 (just!) And I'm thinking although it would be nice to work on concrete stone chippings or road scalping would be the way to go. We're not going to live here forever so it would be temporary.... :) The...

Putting a workshop in the garden...

Hi all, After a bit of advice about putting a workshop in the garden.. So I've bought a house with a garden big enough for a (domestic) workshop, that I see enclosed by nice tall hedges. I did my research to see if planning permission was required (it's not as the workshop is a temporary...

    Best tool ever?

might be, im not familiar with the aviation industry to be honest Chris. Call me weak but another thing I use all the time to get more leaverage on bolts is a 1/2" drive long handled flex ratchet, makes light work of any bolt
  19. RL12

    Best tool ever?

Apart from the usual tools an extra long handled 12mmx14mm spanner is great for working on jap stuff, especially prop shaft bolts!

    90 series VX

Hi All, Some of you may have seen my 'wanted' post for a 90 series recently, and I'm happy to say that I've finally found one! This gives me 1.5 landcruiser's, as the other 0.5 is a road legal combination of 70 series Landcruiser and Daihatsu Fourtrak, but the plan is to take this off the road...

WANTED: LWB Landcruiser Colarado 90 D4D

    Replacement master cylinder options?

Thanks for your reply Runekebab. I am using UK 89/90 2.4L LJ70 axles. originally solid disc front and drum brake rear, but now vented disc front and solid disc rear. (with LJ70 Servo and master cylinder). I always use EuroCarParts but could not find any replacement cylinders, buycarparts.co.uk...

    Replacement master cylinder options?

    Lj70 brakes to kzj70

I changed the front to vented discs and calipers a while back. did a rear disc conversion on the back of my LJ axles using the front calipers. Straightforward swap to vented discs on the front but you'll need new wheel studs as they're bastards to get out!

    Landcruiser LJ70 rollcage and sidesteps

A well made external roll cage to fit a toyota Landcruiser LJ70 or KZJ70. The front and rear hoops have TIG welded connecting pieces which then bolt to the central main hoop. pictures in links below. http://s1125.photobucket.com/user/Rich_Lott/media/justin.jpg.html?sort=3&o=274...

Are LJ knuckles the same as hilux?

Hi, how similar are lj70 axles to hilux axles? I bought some deep dish rims but the front left fouls on the steering arm where the drag link comes down to the knuckle. I usually fabricate my own parts but don't want to mess with the steering for obvious reasons, but I see trail gear do High...

Hi I'm having trouble locating the part pictured - the bush on the bottom of the gear lever that moves the gear shift. Went to my Toyota main stealer and thought we ordered the right bit but got the bit that locates the gear lever allowing it to swivel... Is there any uk places (euro4x4parts...

    Caliper Square cut o-rings

Exeter hose& hydraulic bloke was kind and gave me a couple of normal o-rings but i don't want to risk it tbh. I phoned alliance seals and the guy sounded promising and might've been able to supply quad seals (X shaped cross section that expands under pressure better than o rings) he said he...

    Caliper Square cut o-rings

Today i tried visiting a few bearings/seals etc places with no luck. also a motor spares plade on the 'off chance', and Exeter Toyota. the parts man had a schematic diagram but it only listed the piston seals :( one of the bearings places suggested having a cheeky word with one of the fitters...

    Caliper Square cut o-rings

yeh the body is square cut roger. and i know what you mean Iwan but i'm pretty sure these are cut square (like the caliper piston seals are cut square) rather than deformed.
  45. RL12

    Caliper Square cut o-rings

Does anyone know where to source square cut o-rings from? I'm trying to reseal a pair of 4 pot lj70 front calipers but 'bigg red' rebuild kit doesn't contain the small square cut o rings that fit between the caliper halves (not the piston o rings) and one of the seals is damaged.

    Brake upgrade

no, i'm not keen on drilling discs either. i have fourtrak axle already which i think has vented discs so hopefully they might be ok for me, 312mm OD LJ78 rear vented looks like a good option, and for £18 ea inc vat isn't too bad at all (milner) or 300mm OD KZJ70 front vented discs possibly...

just had a look at your Difflock thread Ash, Looks good. Are you going to go down the KZJ route for the front or something else? is that £150 for genuine calipers etc YD? and what calipers and disks have you guys used? -i'm in the process of doing something similar. i was thinking of cutting...
