    So just to close this one off. The offending part was the A/C CUT Water SW. These are about $150 from OEM and not much less for aftermarket ones, I have disconnected so the A/C works and will wait to get a second hand one.

It shows the A/C Water Switch charges the A/C CUT Relay (normally closed), I assume to CUt Out the A/C when the engine is running hot and thus help with engine cooling, however I cannot locate the...

    Will do, just found another circuit diagram. It is possible my HZJ80 does not have a relay for Magnetic Clutch - just runs through A/?C CUT RELAY controlled by water temp sw. Will check for continuity here too. Possible corroded wire. Cheers. James

    All For records folks; the corroded wire was in this location buried about 30mm from the bulkhead. See Blue & Yellow wire in image fixed with heat shrink now protecting. James

    Found it...and fixed it ! Managed to isolate the area of concern and eventually found a heavily corroded wire inside loom engine bay just before bulkhead... Now to re wrap loom and reassemble the dash.... Hope there are no more....

    Towpack, thanks for the response. I have not noticed any windscreen leaks however it has been submerged (previous owner) in water at some point so it sounds like I may need to get behind the dash to see if these has been any internal loom corrosion. May be good to get it all out anyway...

    HZ1 Timing Belt tensioner

    Folks, just to close the loop. It looks like I have a '97 HZ1 engine in my '93 Model. The '97 HZ1 has a Hydraulic tensioner. Judging by the missing cross member below the grill the Engine mush have been swapped at some stage. Back to the shop tomorrow.

    Han anyone help. I ordered a new timing belt and idler for my HZJ80R which has a HZ1 engine. The idler delivered is as per the Parts catalogue but appears to be different to what is fitted. Can anyone offer any suggestion to what is on my engine. Pics attached - hopefully....! james
