    Eleck-Trickery Question re Immobiliser

Does seem a bit of a strange one but running the car up and down the lane won't charge a battery (unless your lane is 100 miles long) but I would say it needs a good 30-40 mins of driving to to get any thing near a charge. But what I would do is as you have said put it on charge with the smart...

    Ignition signal in rear compartment

Hi Darren, I cannot help ign feed in the rear, but what I have used in the past, is a voltage sensing relay, so the idea is when the car is stud (and no engine running)the relay is switched off but when you start the car and the voltage rises above a certain level it turns it on.

    Rear Fog lights not working

It is a very easy thing to sort out, but first you need to determine if that is the problem. So remove the three screws from the socket and slightly pull the socket towards you and check if you have power on pin 2 when the fogs are on, if you have then then the socket is poss the problem, so if...

    Rear Fog lights not working

It can be by-passed but it would mean that if towing a caravan and you had the fogs on you would just have a red glare in the rear view mirror

    Rear Fog lights not working

On some trailer sockets they fitted a switch for the fog lights, so when the plug was in, it cut off the fog lights on the car and over time this switch sticks or the contacts corrode, so you loose your fogs on the car. I had this on my 100 series so I removed the socket and fitted one without...

Cruise control not working where to start diagnosing?

Two things never just try another say clutch switch as that might be faulty ! You need to check if the switch is ok ! also on the same thoughts check out the brake switch and it uses that to knock it off, so if the switch is faulty that might be why its not coming on Is your brake light on...

    Clicky starter motor

Well if you are doing a volt drop test you need to do across the battery, ie with the meter set to volts and reading the voltage when the starter is pulled. But you might be right about the solenoid, but when it fails to start stick a large pair of pliers across the two terminals, and if it then...

    Wiring an ammeter help

To be honest that was just a example but the 100 A version is poss a bit low as depends on what the starter draws, but when I had one I connected to the battery negative and it would measure every thing but I had the 500 A one. But to be honest I don't think doing it that way is not the best...

    Wiring an ammeter help

the problem is you say it is a 60 A ammeter, but most systems today run a 120-200 Amp Alternator, in the old days they used Dynamo's giving a possible max current of the 60 Amps. What you need is a modem day version with a shunt that will measure up to say 500 Amps something like this would...

How to disengage, Stuck center diff lock?

Hi Kamo If there is no light on sounds like there is a problem with the centre diff selection, ie the bulb has gone or the switch is faulty, but you need to check that the relay is engaging as if the relay is not engaging and operating the diff solenoid but the advice is right but try both in...

    Reverse Polarity on 100

A fuse will not protect a ECU, A fuse is only a current protection. The only way you could protect is put a Diode between positive and negative just before say the ECU and if it then sees a reverse that will then blow a fuse but that would have to be wired in before this had happened.
