Does anybody know of a viable solution to deal with the well known rust problem affecting the rear upper tailgate of the LC100 Amazon? Also the lid of my central cubby box has snapped. Can that too be repaired or should it be replaced?
Four years ago I had all of my four suspension spheres reconditioned as new and fitted back onto my 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon by Martin and the dudes at Pleiades and was told to expect at least 10 years of carefree motoring. Four years and less than 25000 miles later, I returned to Sawtry...
#25Well, this morning on my way the St Annes Hospital, in North East London, the lid cover on my centre console, snapped clean off. Has this happened to anybody else here and what was the solution, if any, to resolving it?
Yesterday on my way to Milton Keynes one of my plastic hub caps went walkies. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement (apart from the usual suspects)?

About six weeks ago I was quoted by Mr T over £300 plus VAT for one replacement Remote Key Fob for my LC100. Today I spent just over £50 inc VAT and watched two guys from Brentford, Middlesex make like Oscar Goldman and rebuild my two mashed up, none functioning key fobs, to good as new......And...
I'm looking for recommendations for professional independent Toyota Specialist who are based in North East London or North West Essex........Thanks! JC
I hate the new Range Rover (both of them). They're like a wedge of cheese on wheels. Where is the functionality and the practicality and everything else? What is the point of driving a piece of art that only members of the Chelsea Elite understand? The good news is that loads of quality used Mk3...
Got five Toyota OEM 16" Alloys from a Landcruiser Amazon LC100. All come with road bias tyres. One of the alloys will need shotblasting and resprayed as it was the spare. The other four are in very good condition. £60 each x4 or ONO. And £30 for the spare. Buyer collects. Hale on Lea, North London.
I've got an old XP IBM laptop gathering dust which would make a perfect partner for the Techstream. Apart from the interface between the laptop/server and the car, what else both in hardware/software and advise do I need to get me fully up and running as far as doing my own diagnostics is...
Right now I'm having a pig of a time trying to get a replacement key fob for my LC100. I'm looking for a source that could supply me with a complete set both with the case and the electrical innards inside. Any and all suggestions will be gratefully received. JC
I found these on ebay and was wondering what the rest of the LC100 community thought of them:

A week ago (Friday) my truck stopped dead coming out of Tottenham Hale Retail Park. 15 seconds after the restart, the engine cut out again and I came within a fanny hair of t boning some poor lady as I lost my power steering. Eventually I made it to the BP filling stations where I called out...
One of my daylights has blown (the one on the passenger side which is blocked by the battery) and I've been advised the replace both sides at the same time (and keep one for spare). Could someone please give me Mr T's product code for the item. Thanks.
I would be interested to know how long present owners of the LC100 on this forum intend to keep theirs trucks as a going concern?

Yesterday, the battery in my truck finally decided to give up the ghost after 12 years of sterling service. That was confirmed by the dude from the RAC and after a quick call to Toyota Jemca in Enfield where a replacement battery was duly ordered. Then a plan was hatched for the RAC dude to come...
My truck is going in for it's bi-annual service come Monday and I'm after a handbrake cable assembly for my 100. Got to move on this fast, so any and all help will be gratefully accepted. The Dark Dude.:icon-cool:
Today I received some shocking news
that the upper rear tailgate on my LC100 was in a severe state of decayand suffering the after effects of RUST. So NOW I'm after a rust free upper tailgate for my wagaon and IF I can get one to match the colour of my truck (code 8L4 dark metallic blue) all...
It's been a year own since I brought my first Toyota Landcruiser and in that time a lot of water has passed under the bridge. I originally brought "Hannabal" to ferry my then sick wife back and forth to the Royal Free Hospital has Sharon was finding the journey increasingly difficult in a...
I've just come across this on ebay as maybe a possible candidate for my move to South Africa.

Alas, I've heard some real bad things about the non turbo 4.2 105 not having enough...
Last Tuesday morning I filled up my truck up from empty with LPG (69.9p per litre) in Wolverhampton before making the 150 mile journey back home to Tottenham Hale, London. To date, I've done just over 306 miles and it's still going strong and I reckon it's got at least another 50 miles in the...
Well I'm back from South Africa having had a wonderful time viewing some wonderful examples of Toyota 4x4 metal but now I'm back in the UK and feeling the cold I'm thinking it's time for my motor to have a set of different boots for winter and summer. So I'm after a set of original later LC100...
Does anyone else think that 408,000miles on the clock and a £6,500 (no vat) asking price for a LC100 4.2 TD GX is all a bit too much? How many times can a engine go round the clock before meeting it's maker in the great scrapyard in the sky?:icon-evil:

I'm starting to get really pissed off with some of the crazies around East London trying to play chicken with me and my LC100. My truck is pretty standard fare and it seems to attract idiots who think that they are bigger and badder even when they are the ones driving a Kia. This never happened...
Did anyone manage to watch Hugh Dennis and David Baddiel drive a standard LC100 oil burner over 2,000km of Ethiopia's bone-shaking roads, last night on the BBC? They were in a quest to reach Aksum, known as the home of the Ark of the Covenant and they nearly didn't make it when they accidentally...
If you want to reserve the performance of your air suspension and you don't currently have loads of money to give away to Mr T, then there is only ONE place to go, Pleiades (and I don't mean Seven Sisters, North London). 8-)
Give Martin a bell, take a trip to the East Midlands/Cambridgeshire...
Does anyone know of a reliable place (excluding ebay and Mr T) where I can source a replacement key fob for my LC100? Any and all suggestions would be gratefully accepted.
John
I'm after a few bits and pieces for our LC100.
1. The Brake Light Lens on the top of the upper tailgate. Mine is cracked!
2. The same thing as happened to one of my interior lights within the lower door panel.
I don't want to go to Mr T for obvious reasons, so any help here would be...
This morning Hanna and me returned to Herts Tyre and Exhaust for a ........car wash! Dave also details cars in his spare time and he wanted to introduce my car (an my back) to the miracle of SNOW FOAM. The truck was covered completely in well white snow foam. It was like Christmas. One hour...
Now with most of the mechanical work done and dusted it's time I looked at the poor state of the interior and exterior of my Hanna and getting her back in top condition.
The front drivers seat is torn while ALL the seats need refreshing. The carpets are dirty and dis-coloured and the whole...
Did anyone see tonight's Top Gear and their new piece on Bentley's new 4x4 SUV prototype? Check here if you didn't:

Well I was wondering, doesn't it look something like this imported example of a LC100? Especially the front end...
When are we (as a collective) going to stand up and do something about the scandal that is car insurance?
Last year my premium was just shy of £900. (That was bad enough).
This year, I get quoted £2344 from the same insurance broker for renewing exactly the same policy with the only difference...
Given my recent comments about Anne "ManEater" Robinson, I was wondering what are the three biggest weakest links of LC100?
My number one would be the AHC but what would be your two and three?
Suggestions please.....
John
After almost one year of happy motoring in my "new" truck, I today took my LC100 for it's first MOT, which it duly failed, Ie:
004: Front (n/s and o/s) Shock absorber has negligible damping effect (2.7.5)
In short, the suspension sometimes bounces up and down and sometimes it doesn't. There...
Checked the levels on the suspension fluid this morning and discovered they were a bit low. Any suggestions (apart from the obvious)?

Today, I returned to the Black country (cash in hand) with the intention of bagging myself some more goodies for Hanna, my trusty LC100. This time it WAS going to be a rear retractable parcel shelf. Now when the seller, Martin ( a very man, with a grip of an industrial vice) turned up driving a...
The times, they are a changing. Just seen a TV advert on DAVE promoting the advantages of having a LPG install from a company called BRC. WOW!
