100 series autobox prob

Hi everyone, i have a problem with a 100 series auto box. The car has
never missed a beat in 3 years of ownership. Runs faultlessly and
gets serviced regularily. Went away for a week and left the car in the
airport came back and started it, let it sit for a few minutes to warm
up then reversed out of the parking spot and went to drive away. The
car moved about 100 yards then stopped moving. Turned it off, started
it again and tried to move, same thing. Moved 100 yards and stopped.
Any ideas where to start? The fluid level is fine. Thanks. Brian.

Brian,
Does it go if you continue to move very slowly?, try not to
exceed 5 mph and see if it stays powered, if so the 1st to 2nd shift
valve is stuck. Try to move with the second start button p

Sorry I did not see the previous post, didn't notice the vehicle actually

hi everyone. apologies for not coming back sooner. i havent been able to get
online in days, thanks to THREE broadband being down and also dropping my
phone into 40 gallons of waste oil.its been a good week. i tried all the
suggestions and found if i kept it in D and held the revs at about 1800 it
would creep, albeit very slowly, but it did move. i started thinking all
sorts, "A" clutch dying, maybe the torque converter on its last legs. I
decided to investigate further and dropped the sump off the box. turns out
the filter was blocked solid, i guess after 150000 miles its to be expected.
a good clean and new oil and its like driving a new car, gear changes are
much sharper and happen quicker, it goes up through the gears so much
smoother. its never driven this good.
thanks for the input.
