Hi,
I'm getting the 100 series ready for a 3-4 month trip North. I'm replacing the original 100 series Fujitsu head unit (cd, tape, radio) my 2001 100 series with a new generic Polaris GPS unit. Models from 2002 have a specific unit rather than the generic. The main 2 plugs look like pretty easy conversion, I found a wiring diagram on the internet which looks OK. There is a third large plug off to the side that I can't work out what it is. I've unplugged it and the car still starts and the old head unit still runs. I can't find anything to tell me what this is.
There is a security key printed on the front, the lower display flashed with a security key for a few seconds when first starting. It also has a factory fitted Toyota Alarm. Not sure if this is tied in at all.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
