100 series oil

I have just drained my engine oil and filled up with new oil to find out i dont have enough. I have put in 8l and having measured the amount that came out am still a good 1.5/2 liters short. Gutted I am.

The manual says 8 liters for a dry engine 6.8 liters for engine and oil filter and 6.4 liters for just engine.

I dont understand it.

Dont know what manual your looking at, but it should say 10.1-11.4 ltrs. http://www.commaoil.com/productsguide/vrm/6/54591/1

Thanks, off to the shops I go tomorrow to get a few more liters. Opie oils say 6 liters if I go by their website so thought a few more would do no harm as as spare oil.

Well, here in DK Mr.T says 11,8 L and that amount has served me well for 320.000 Km with an oil change every 15.000 Km...I always change the filter as well. I run on a full synthetic 5W/40 IQ-X Super at only 7 GBP/L.

Those volumes sound about right for the petrol engine not the diesel.
