Thinking about doing an engine swap onmy BJ73, alternatives right now are the 12 HT and the 13BT. Any thoughts?

Hi Errol,

13B-T : 3431cc 4 cyl, 120hp, 91 kW @3400, 210 ft lbs @ 2000
has oil cooling jets under pistons as per 3B
12HT : 3980cc 6 cyl, 135hp, 100kW @ 3500, 231 ft lbs @ 2000

Both have direct injection + turbo.

Regards,

Rodger

Thanks Rodger, I was thinking more about the fit, I was going to do the job myself, so I wanted to get away from any modifications, just a plug and play.
I've been down the "make it work"route, making adapter plates and all that nonsense before with land rovers, don't want to start all that again. Lol

The 12HT is one of the finest engines Toyota ever produced!

The one in our work 60 has done 450,000km and will easy do another few hundred thousand before it needs a rebuild. :icon-biggrin:
