Hi,
This is primarily aimed at our resident diesel guru Craig (morning!);-)
I'm very loosely toying with 'upgrading' to a 100 series, but would
like to know a bit more about how the fuel injection system on the 1HD
-FTE works with specific reference to how it is likely to behave
running 100% Diodiesel as well as how it is likely to behave with
poorer quality fuel that you are likely to encounter in places like
North Africa.
Currently I run my 80 on 100% biodiesel and it seems to run fine. I
appear to have a little more power than I do with normal pump fuel but
tieing in with that I tend to get slightly poorer consumption.
I have heard stories about some electronically controlled injection
systems being quite fussy with biodiesel and just shutting down.
I guess they could do the same with poorer quality fuels.
Craig, do you have any experience/views on the subject?
