2015 LC SUV Gas Tank Challenge

This past May I purchased a 2015 LC. One challenge that I have not solved yet is that the LC has a 24.6 gallon tank, but I can never get more than approx 20 gallons in the tank (even when it is ready near empty).

Any thoughts here as to what is going on?

I am thinking that it could be anyone of the following;

1. The sender is not properly positioned
2. The gas pick up can't get at the gas in the bottom of the tank
3. Other

I greatly appreciate any insights that you have to offer.

How do you establish that it is "ready near empty"?
Did you ever drive it until it stopped?
Normally, both tank meter and trip computer will say Empty long before it is actually empty. A margin of 4-5 gallons sounds about right.

You might be surprised how far you can drive when there are "Zero" miles showing on the computer
