2016 VX Head unit upgrade for Apple Car Play

Hi, wondering if anyone has successfully managed to upgrade their head unit or replaced it with a unit that fits into the original location that works with Apple Car play. I can’t find any quality units that will do it. I’ve tried a couple of eBay “guaranteed to work perfectly“ and they were duds and I returned them. Polaris make a unit for GX and GXL but it’s not compatible with my VX.

What does it look like? Is it standard double DIN? Or.... ?

EC OFROAD do one I installed one into my 2018 GXL it took 30 minutes to install and fits prrfect

Thanks for the tip. I’ve heard a lot of bad wraps about them having lag and not connecting to iPhones straight away. I had a unit (exact same model) made by the same factory sold under another brand and took it out purely out of frustration.

I am having some issues with my factory fitted unit (warranty expired) it won't disconnect from the front, rear & right-hand side camera, when I try to change from the camera to the home page, I get a yellow warning triangle.

Anyone had any of these issues?

could you please advise me on this head unit, which is the port for the rearview camera and FM antenna? I have a 2012 GXR with a 6.5-inch Toyota navigation unit (TN 350). I want to replace it with the same unit which you have (I got it as a give away ). The current unit has 16 pins for the Rearview camera, but the new unit doesn't have the 16-pin port. If you have any wiring diagrams above the unit, please share.
