Hi,
THanks for the feedback on the day, makes it all worth while!
Just seen the following posted on another forum from some people in a
Hilux that crashed the day at the Bustard Inn - it's a video showing
the tricked up 40 wallowing in the puddle near the pub.

So what's the consensus on the problem - tyres or technique?
Ian.

It had certainly warmed up by then!! When we got there that "puddle" was
covered in ice thick enough to jump on.
Just one point / question (with my CRAG hat on) - did we have permission
to play in that puddle? It certainly isn't a PRoW according to my
information. We only arrived there after failing to find a legitimate
exit from the byway a hundred yards or so south of that puddle. We
eventually exited just south of the puddle.

Hi Ian,
Possibly both, although difficult to tell if diffs were locked, etc.
Probably the sort of thing Jon W's tank could do in it's sleep with his
37" Simexes!

Hi Peter,
To be honest I don't know. I had asked one of the wardens, but he didn't
get back to me. I go the impression from Roy at the pub that it was OK to
use.

Hi Lubo,
OME stands for Old Man Emu - they make probably the best suspension for
Landcruisers, well at least the most common.
BTW - where are you... Norway?

me that I have servo leak and wanted me to replace it but it was damn
expencive - everything in that country is EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!! Any

Hi Lubomir,
The OME kit is around ?600 GBP all in and then takes about a morning to
fit if your first time. Idealy aim for upgraded springs, upgraded
dampers, upgraded steering damper, castor correction kit and also worth
getting the rear damper stone protectors.
Most people start off with the 2.5 inch lift, although you can go a lot
higher. For a handy guide have a look at Old Man Emu kits at the bottom
of the page at http://www.sleeoffroad.com/products/80_suspension.htm.
The most important thing is to make sure you get properly rated springs
and dampers for the load you are likely to be carrying.
You might be able to buy just a seal kit - it depends where the leak is -
do you have any more info?

I'll try to get more info tomorrow.
That 'OME' is not for me for the time being :-(. In Norway that will
cost hmm-I don't dare to think and the job + VAT25% and you go bananas
Keep in touch...

Lubo
