If you are interested, please call the number below or email him via:

===================================================================I suspect I've over-tyred my Hilux (actually a '91 VW Taro 2.4D) and
compromised the gearing for heavily-loaded off-piste desert driving -
something I don't want to find out for sure once I'm out there. The car
runs fine on the road but does not have the zip of a Hilux on 205s so
I'm selling 6 x BFG AT KO 235/85 R16s to replace with the next size
down in the BFG AT range - it's the only tyre I'd use in the Sahara
and the best 4x4 AT you can get.
Two tyres are unused, the other 4 have done under 1000 lightly loaded
road miles in the UK.
They would suit a Land Cruiser, Patrol, Pajero, later Hiluxes and any
other six-stud 4x4s. I've used BFG ATs extensively in the Sahara and
they're excellent at 1 bar in the dunes, on rock and wet roads and
everything in between - as good as a Mich XS but without the noise,
punctures, skidding, bounce and high wear.
Fitted on 6 stud (Jap pattern) white 8 spoke steels (RWL on the
inside).
If you want details of the exact offset please call Matt on 0781 111
9929. Available for collection in Matlock or Matt can quote on the cost
of a courier if anyone is interested. The whole lot will weigh around
180kg.
The lucky winner of this auction will also get a copy of my Sahara
Overland book and the associated Desert Driving dvd (134 mins) worth
over ?35.
Payment can be with Paypal or cash on collection to save yourself the
Paypal fee.

Hey Lio
Yoe dont give any details about the rims.
I run 285s on 16s with 2 inch lift and no problem other than the speedo and
fuel consumption is off.
cheers

Hi,
I would think 235/85's would look rather small on a lifted 80, especially if
you have the wheel arch flares fitted. I used to have 255/85 BFG MT's on
mine with a similar lift and they looked a bit narrow with the flares,
looked a lot better with the flares off. I now have 255/100R16's and the
arches are nicely full, only a minor rub at the rear on full articulation.
