Maybe a silly question but if someone hit your cruiser from behind are
they not at fault and should they not be replacing the damaged bumper.

The replacement of the bumper is an easy task. Doing your own
repairs after an accident prevents a knock for knock arrangement from
losing you your no claims. It all boils down to cost and I think the
bumper bit is the best.

Always worth trying to get the party at fault to chip in but I agree, even
with protected no claims the hassle of making a claim is lots of unpaid
work, (and the premiums still seem to go up).
