80 series diff and advice and enquiries

Hi John
If you break up your 80 series can you give me a price that you would be
willing to sell your diff box for? (don't know the technical term). My
RR-FR has never worked, although Central diff is brilliant. Would I have to
change the entire unit or maybe just get it reconditioned? I've been quoted
about =A3400 for the diff work, that is, taking it out and cleaning it
up/reconditioning it. A new unit would cost me twice as much.
Do you still have prices available of RO/RO to Ireland? And if so, can you
give me a quote for end February and end March prices please?
Cheers.
Renate

Subject: [ELCO] 100 series V8 Transfer box
Hi All
Firstly Happy New Year!!
I have used our 100 series for some very heavy towing during the snow - It
has developed a very bad transmission Vibration and further investigation
has shown about 3mm of lift on the transfer box bearing where the rear prop
shaft is connected.
The most weird thing is that with all 4 wheels off the ground it appears to
be locking the centre diff on its own when you are rotating the wheels. The
centre diff was locked when towing & Im wondering if something has broken in
the centre diff? Has anyone had this happen?
The next question is if the Petrol V8 transfer box is the same as the Diesel
one?
Im also considering breaking My 80 series if anyone needs parts.
Cheers
John
