There’s still a bit of paint work to do, I want to get all the bumpers and bonnet done but I might leave it for the winter time.

Here’s a few pictures of the paint being done, most of the work was repairing the rusty rear tailgate!

Got the wheel alignment done on this last weekend, I’ve decided to get a couple more bits painted on it such as the bonnet, bumpers etc thats happening next week. So all that’s left to do after that is fit some upgraded dogbone pieces for the handbrake and get it tested!
This really seems to be a never ending project

That looks fantastic , and it is a never ending job coz we are all queueing up to send our trucks to you :icon-biggrin:

Not a landcruiser  (hope someone doesn’t ban me for this) is anyone else into rusty old mercedes? Have a 3.0 Diesel engine for this with a massive big turbo and stuff, should be 400bhp plus

Agree with Jake and other's, That is one Great looking 80..... Top work Mate

So another update, I had faulty ignition barrel which swallowed my key and wouldn’t release it so I had to order and a new set of locks and keys which I’m still waiting on to arrive. I washed it before it sent it off for more paint and got a few pictures.

Had this is for its road worthiness test today and it passed first time around! It’ll finally be on the road as soon as I tax it!

I doubt it’ll ever be ‘finished’ but at least it will be driving! The stuff left to do includes:

• sort the headlight washers
• tint the windows and fit wind deflectors
• change all the speakers
• fit a hidden air compressor
• re-gas the air-con incase we get a warm weekend this summer :tearsofjoy:
• paint the roof and shadow lines around the doors

Etc etc etc as I said never ending! But I can’t see myself ever selling it

Never mind shadow line park in the sun stand back and admire along with all who pass by looking at your 80

Serious looking job that Declan. I hope it gives years of cheesy grins. I also just saw the W124 estate you mentioned above.. I've long had a grá for those. That 606 engine can take some serious power I believe.
