A/T Cooler

Some may remember my long and sorry saga with my LJ 78 back in March, two
blown cylinder heads,( "repaired" in the UK), cracked radiator, A/T box
cooked ,etc, etc, living in the hills in mid Portugal and being absolutely
non technical, I had no choice but to have my local garage re-build and
repair what they could.
The local garage made a custom radiator one third larger capacity, installed
an A/T cooler in front of the radiator and re-built the bottom end, I found
a new cylinder head for =A3310 and they fitted it, they also made some new
larger exhaust pipe and boxes, fitted new brakes and a few other things,
they also re-filled the A/T box and cleaned the mesh, the vehicle now runs
like new, just 3000 Kilometers since the re-build but my confidence is
restored, the final bill was 1,800 euros, ( inc cylinder head), good value I
think,
Regards,
Chris.

Chris,
Good to know it's all going well, you certainly did well, then again after
the UK experience you deserved some luck.

Excellent value methinkis! here in the Uk it would cost this just for part
of a new auto gearbox! no seriously, it looks as though they did a very good
job indeed and didn't try to charge the earth for it...when I'm next in
portual I'll check out some of the local garages if I'm spending some time
there.
Good for you, long may your rebuild last.
