Morning All,
Now that the summer is drawing to a close and hopefully most of you
should be back from hols, how about trying to arrange another meetup,
perhaps some time in October or November?
Some have suggested a camping trip, but am inclined to leave that until
next spring/summer.
This leaves the idea of a play day back on Salisbury Plain or down near
Exeter.
If we go for Salisbury Plain it would be handy to be able to book a
lunch for all of us at the pub in the middle of the plain where we
finished up - I'm not keen on doing two shifts in a single pub again.
Gareth, would you be able to dig out some more info on the facilities
in Exeter, costs, number of vehicles allowed e.t.c.
Also with Exeter being quite a slog for people coming down from London
direction, do any of you know of any similar Pay and Play sites more
centrally located?
With regards when to do it, from October onwards I cannot really do
Saturdays so Sundays are best, how about the rest of you?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Julian, good morning and a hearty congrats on the new addition to the family. Further outnumbered by women !
I should be seeing Mark on Saturday and I will discuss the possibilities with him and report back next week re Exeter.
FWIW - Salisbury Plain is a good central location for most of us and the tracks proved to be good fun last time around.
If we could go a little earlier in the year it would be better as I recall we were not far off the shortest day hence it was dusk when we finished. Obviously the weather has to be factored in.
If we can incorporate Dana into our plans then that would be good.
Finally ---- by hook or by crook ----- we must get John over from Ireland. I can taste the Guiness and it's not even 10.30 !
Regards Gareth Jones.

I think I will be in Poland on an aid trip/break for the first Two weeks of
October. After that I don't have a clue.
Regards, Clive.

Roman,
I have forgotten the name of the town, I will find out again this weekend at
Peterborough. It is an aid project to convert an unused building in to
accomodation for homeless families, ex Vodka distillary I think. This first
trip is to see it and find out which way they want to go with it, and
pitching in as far as we can. There will be further trips when we know what
to take with us in the way of materials or cash. I am going on a photo shoot
soon for publicity for this.
Regards, Clive.

Interesting, Clive.
I am finishing work on my cottage in N Wales. By importing 90% of
materials from Poland I've saved myself a sunstantial sum of money.
Even more so by hiring Polish contractors.
I suppose many charitable projects over here could benefit as well
from such cross-border trade in goods and services.

I'm ok for most weekends but predictably can't commit till we have a
date. Exeter is a long haul for a day trip from here even for me so I
would probably have to make a weekend of it in which case the earlier in
the year it is the better so I don't freeze too much :) I'm quite happy
to spend the Saturday doing some lanes in the area and meet you lot on
the Sunday for example. Salisbury plain is day trip territory for me.
Best Regards,
Jon.
