Hi,
I have now confirmed the arrangements for the day and have prepared the
following itinerary:
9.00am - Meet at the Little Chef, Amesbury for Breakfast and briefing.
10.00am - Move off for drive/play around the plain
12.30pm - Start assembling at the Bustard Inn on the plain
1.30pm - Lunch it served in the function room
2.30-3.00pm - Talk by Chris Scott (see
http://www.sahara-overland.com/cscott/index.htm) on overlanding in his
TLCs
4.00-5.00pm Wrap Up
I will put more details up onto the website in the next day or two
along with a registration form for booking lunches etc.
You have the choice of either coming along first thing in the morning
for a play on the plain or keeping your car clean and just coming along
for the lunch.
After lunch you have the choice of staying for the talk or going back
out to play.
I'm not going to be bothering with name tags, you are all big enough to
introduce each other - I'll be the one with the pretty blonde on my arm
(my 5yr old daughter who is very excited about the day!).
And yes, this is intended to be a family day out so bring along her
indoors if you want/have to in order to get a green card!
The day is open to all comers so do spread the word, although
past/present/future TLC ownership is preferred. I have posted details
to a number of other sites and we might even get some coverage in the
press. If we get too many wanting to come priority will be given to
members of this list.
So far we have around 30 people interested (including Lio coming over
from France and Dana coming over from the US - OK, that is a bit of a
fib, he is in London visiting his son for a week and has managed to fit
the day out into his itinerary! I though it sounded impressive) and 18
TLCs.
Max capacity in the function room is 100 so lets see if we can fill it!
