Morning All,
So far we only have 3 people registered for the trip to Salisbury Plain
on the 25th.
If you are interested in coming along, please can you register on the
website at http://www.landcruisers.info/salisbury05reg.aspx - I need a
decent idea of the numbers in order to sort out food numbers etc.
Thanks

Julian,
I intend to come but as I have only had One day off work since I
saw you last I am not sure. I do not want to register until sure. As
for the food, I don't have the time to wait 10 minutes to pay at the
pub so we will do our own thing.

Morning All,
Just to clarify some points re Salisbury Plain:
1. Yes there have been delays in the pub in the past when it comes to
paying - hopefully if everyone coming registers for the meals
beforehand we can avoid the confusions. I may also get you to pay for
your meals when we register in the morning.
2. As always going for another play on the plain after lunch is
optional. I have added an option to the registration form to ask if
you are wanting to go back out after lunch - this is purely so that we
can make sure we have enough volunteers to lead groups so they don't go
tearing across closed Army tracks etc as has happened in the past (see
note below).
3. It is imperative that everyone thinking of coming registers,
regardless of whether you are having meals or not. I need to ensure
that we have enough volunteers to lead groups of 4-5 vehicles - the
last thing we need is to have people turning up on the day wanting to
join groups, pushing the numbers up to unmanagable sizes.
Even if you aren't 100% sure that you can come - I would rather that
you registered and then put a note in the comments to say that you may
pull out at the last minute, than not register at al.
So far the only people to register are:
Me
Jon Wildsmith
Alan Fisher
Richard Edwards
Hopefully the rest of you that have said that you can come will go and
register.
Finally.....
Just a quick note on driving on the plain - there is a lot of info on
the website at http://www.landcruisers.info/salisbury05Driving.html -
please do read it before the day.
The actual legal byways that we can drive are quite limited so if you
are looking for serious mud plugging the chances are your group may
have to venture slightly further afield.
Having said that, assuming we dont start upsetting the army by
(illegally) using some of the more 'interesting' army tank tracks this
year, there are negotiations going on to allow us to use them in the
future - the Colonel in charge of the plain appreciates that some of
you want to go and play in mud, practice using winches etc and would
rather it was done on the army tracks that have already been torn up by
their tanks than on the public byways. I haven't been able to organise
anything for this trip, but hope that we will have the relevant
permissions for a trip in the spring.
That's all for now. If you have any questions or issues, please do not
hesitate to call me on 07971 540362.

Hi again,
When I registered before I never received a confirmation email, I have just
been through the registration process again (my details had been remembered)
and I have received a confirmation, so all should be well now!

Hi Chas,
Yes, sorry, there was a hiccup with the system for a day or so when it
was appearing to register you, but was failing to store your details in
the database.
Thanks for re-registering.

Hi All,
Well the numbers are creeping up slowly - 18 trucks, 25 passengers,
etc.
I have arranged for the lunch to be served in two sittings - one at
12.30 for those that want to go back on the plain and then one at 1.30
for those that want to kick back and chew the cud.
I am short of group leaders so if any of you with experience of the
area are willing to lead a group of 4-5 cars around the plain and
surrounding area, please could you drop me a line.
