advice sought

Guys, and Roman
Apologies for my last mail re exhaust emissions.

However I believe I ought to be concerned about the following:
The engine sounds rougher than it has been before, the auto gear change is not as smooth as it used to be (resounding clunks, not good), and the turbo whines like a mad thing at just over 2 revs. The higher the revs the more it whines (loudly) and the harder it is for it to pull away on hills.

Should I contemplate a major service interval (over a year and a half since the last one), and/or complete engine overhaul?

Could all this be improved by a simple thing as adjusting the accellerator cable and sound-proofing the engine better? Or by using the gear as a Manual for the time being?

And, is =A31 Grand minimum too little for the costs of this?

Any advice would be gratefully received

Hi Renate,
I think that for the time being, stop worrying until this weekend when
we can collectively crawl over and under your truck to provide a
diagnosis.
It will be much easier to see what is wrong with the vehicle in front
of us, rather than hypothesising on the list and listing possible
problems that could cause further worry.
I for one will bring along a pair of overalls.

Not at all Renate.- It's all about contribution and you certainly do that.
Talking of which-I'm so glad there are people like Julian around-how do you find the time?
Sorry I won't make it to the Mudfest- next time I hope.
It will be interesting to meet you Renate-in the meantime keep the airways busy?!

Remember-you are only as good as your next rebuild.
Best Regards

Yes, I do don't I? contribute I mean. Is this a good or a bad thing?
methinks bad...most of it is not that relevant.
The time? the email is a works email, and since I'm here for about 12
hours a day I do it at work...makes sense to me anyway
Where do you live?
