Air systems - AIR JACK

I am wondering if any one has come across a hydraulic jack powered by
compressed air. I know about long reach hydraulic jacks that act like
a hi-lift but I never heard about one driven by a compressor.
Roman - check the Northern Tools catalogue. There is one in there but
-- it is designed for workshop use so it has wheels and a full length
fixed handle.
BTW - I have an electric air compressor. I prefer a remote type as
opposed to the those fixed to the vehicle. This way I can use the
compressor on any vehicle. Mine is housed in a robust metal box and has
long electrical leads and a very long length of coiled hose. I can
connect it to the battery on the L/C and with the trailer connected to
the L/C I can still reach the furthest tyre. Now - who was it made by ?
Sorry can't remember - will look lunchtime.

Hi Roman/Gareth,
What about the air bag style jack?

Julian,
It has its use and makes sense on many occasions, but there are limitations:
- terribly messy when used in mud
- sensitive to the location under the chassis. I can use it under the
aux fuel tank but not along the the driver's side - too close to the
exhaust pipe. And it easily slides when used on an oblique surface,
like the steering guard at the front.
- the hose supplying exhaust gasses is not as robust as the bag itself
And you need to be careful where you point the hose when releasing the
exhaust gasses, or else you will look like a minstrel show star.
