Another performance gimmick?

I have just come across ads and a write up about the following in a
local 4x4 mag and was wondering if any of you have come across anything
similar.
http://www.vortex-performance-exhausts.co.uk/Beniefits.htm
It's another cyclone style product, but this time goes on the exhaust
side.
One of the main UK 4x4 mags (Total Off Road) seem convinced enough to
fit one to their Cherokee J**p.

Hi Julian,
"...Up to 25% fuel saving is possible with this technology ..."
Here's my comment: http://tinyurl.com/5tub5

Hi Roman,
That is what I suspect, but was surprised to see TOR give it column
inches and to fit it to one of their vehicles.

Julian,
If they had it fitted for free, they were supposed to write about it, weren't
they? What they didn't write about is an advertising deal with the supplier.
We can be sure of one thing - if onyone, particularly a small commpany such as
Vortex, ever comes up with a device that saves 25% of fuel, the patent will be
immediately snapped by a multinational oil company and never see the light of
day. Remember Ivar Kreuger and the story about the "permanent match"?

Julian,
While TOR is a fairly good mag. I sometimes think that they have lean
months for content, perhaps this explains the 'do anything' strategy. On the
other hand, it could be 'it's for free'?.

Hi Roman,
Having written for mags in the past I should perhaps be a bit more cynical.
Technically it is an interesting concept - OK another twist on the cyclone style
products.
One thing I have always wondered, do cyclone products work differently in the
southern hemisphere than they do in the north, like the water going down a
drain:)
