Hi,
I have already mentioned these guys before, but would again like to
recommend RVS in Swindon (01793 - 421166) for Injection pump and
injector work.
I have just picked up my pump and injectors from them, they have
stripped them all down, cleaned them off, re-assembeled and then tested
and reset to factory specs.
Despite one of the injectors dribbling as opposed to spraying they
haven't replaced any parts in them - nothing was that worn, all they
needed to do was clean the components and reprofile the needles.
With the pump they replaced all the seals, a shaft (not sure which one)
and a roller kit (again not sure which one), they also ran the standard
factory tests as well as a vacuum test to see how well the pump was
sucking the fuel up from the tank.
So a pretty thorough job, fortunately nothing major needed replacing
and they recon it should be good for another 100,000 miles (has done
150,00 already).
The other encouraging news is that having run the car on biodiesel for
the last 20,000 there was no untoward damage.
So the cost - ?332.34 inc VAT.
Now all I have to do is get the pump and injectors back in the engine,
replace the BEBs, put in the new shims and valve lifters - it's going
to be a busy 24hrs, but a lot of fun!
