I can't remember if it was fronts or rears but they used to put them on the rear of surf's/forerunners and it gave them a 3 inch lift. But something needed to be fabricated to get them to fit right.
I have installed a 2 inch lift in the front (so much more straight forward than I expected! ) I was trying to fit the rear springs today and I can't for the life of me get enough clearance to fit the buggers in...
Do I need to remove both springs before fitting the new ones?
Is there a walk through anyone can link me to?
Drop the panhard rod and arb links. Then get as much droop as possible with the weight of the axle or pop a small jack in there and push the axle down. There is a knack I'm afraid. They will literally fall out if you get it right.
To avoid having to drop the ARB and panhard rod you can use spring compressors. It takes a fair bit of fiddling to get the compressors into the right position to actually tighten them. I've done it twice now and it is easier if you swear a lot.
