antiroll bars

I didn't remove them, but I had pretty worn bushes on the rear. The
handling on road got pretty sloppy: not dangerous, but difficult to
drive in a straight line on a poorly surfaced country road (common round
here). Renewing them improved matters considerably.

I have no idea about "quick disconnects" - sorry.

anyone taken away the antiroll/antisway bars? to gain more articulation,
and would you recommend/deplore it for road use? or am I likely to
rollover if I remove them?
What are these quick disconnects all about then? thanks
Alan

I've removed both front and rear anti-roll bars on my 1994 HDJ80. There
is a lot more roll on road, probably exaggerated by how much extra
weight I'm carrying but compared to my wife's 1993 HDJ80 there's a big
difference. I don't mind it and still go at more or less the same speed
round bends but I'm told it sometimes looks quite dramatic by friends
following.
I won't be putting them back on, the extra articulation is good but more
importantly I find it much more stable over tricky obstacles where the
body sits at a much better angle and the axles do all the hard work.
It's much more flexible without them.
It's a daily driver but not really a family vehicle, I can't remember
the last time they had a ride in it. I won't be removing the anti-roll
bars on the 1993 which is the family transport and never really goes
along anything more challenging than muddy tracks or a field.
Best regards,
Jon.

MessageHi Jon
What would the story be if you had an accident be it your fault or someone elses. Would the insurance company honour their liability.

In my case they would as it's a declared material modification. If you
don't declare it then they might try and say it contributed.
Best regards,
Jon.

Messagesome guys in Aussie and US have created quick dis-connects. (check

Opinions are varied as regds on/off
True offroaders seem to take them off and not bothered about roll.
Some other 4x4 said they tried them with the sway bars off and didn't notice
any difference.
I've not tried without.
