Are there any Danish speakers on the list or do you know of anybody who
could help?
I need to get some LC related info translated into English.

Oh I see what you mean. When I looked at this website (linked from another
URL), it offered free machine translation as well. Thyere must be a link to it
somewhere on that page.

Not yet, would rather try to get a free translation first - it's for
the LC site.

Hi Neil,
I was thinking about that, but all the data is in an MS Access database
and I was hoping someone could just work through the key words
translating them as they go - using Babelfish I have to extract all the
words, translate them and then put them back in, which is more long
winded.

Julian,
How about translating the database as a web page? All these auto translator
can do this in one go if you provide the translatio engine with the URL
address?

Thought of that, but the content is a mix of English and Danish and
would be very messy. I can do some of it that way.
I think the only solution is to do it manually.

Julian,
That the content is mixed isn't a problem. The translation engine will leave
English as it is (after translating English into English, that is!). How big
is the source file ? Is it a few hundred or a few thousand lines?

Julian,
Can you send me a sample? Not that I speak Danish, just have some experience
with technical translation.

Access Database with 9 tables, about half have records needing some
translation with around 1000 records.
Also the field names need translating - some are obvious, others aren't
so.
Looking back at it there is one table with a sort of glossary providing
the Danish translations of key English words which might help.

Hi Julian.
Babelfish can't do Danish anyway, sorry I didn't check before sending.
