Anybody here installed a Milners CV recently?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone here has installed a CV from Milners recently
and if you had any problems?
I'm prepping someone's 80 at the moment for a trip to Tunisia in Feb
and rebuilt the knuckles last weekend.
We swapped out all the bearings, seals and CVs - it looks like they had
been done recently (the car has 130k miles on the clock), however the
previous fitter (a Dealer!!) had forgotten to put any grease in any of
the bearings or the CV - there was only about a handful of grease in
the bottom of the knuckle.
Anyway the CVs are either a fraction shorter than the factory ones or
the end plates are thicker because we ended up having to grind off
about 1mm from the end plates in order to get the circlip on to the end
of the CV.
All the bearings were properly seated and the only other issue I had
was with the new inner hub seals which are a different design from the
usual Milner/Toyota ones and were harder to seat.
Just wondering if anyone else had experienced similar issues?

Hi Julian
I fitted or should I say I helped fit a Cv from Milners earlier this year on
my cruiser and it was fine .
Everything went well fitted like a glove.
O how we love the dealers, they look after us so well.

Mine had both CV joints, from Milners, replaced 3 months ago + the OEM
seal kit from Toyota.
I didn't do it myself, but the people who did the work didn't report any
problems. If you want to contact them see
http://www.devon4x4.com/contacts : they are very friendly and helpful,
and I'm sure they will remember doing the job - especially if you
mention the gear wheel tooth found in one hub (added by a Toyota
dealer)!
