Howdy folks
My cruiser pops out of a container next week and the gear box will
need serious attention if i'm going to have any fun with it.
Apart from get the old box reconditioned - Any ideas about changing
out the auto for a manual.
Would it be much more expensive? Would need a clutch, housing, oil pump.
There is a farmer near me selling a 70 series landcruiser with a bad
rust problem for a few hundred euros - could the manual box and clutch
be used in my 80 series?
WOuld be interested to hear any thoughts..

don't think so...I changed my clutch a few months ago and of course the guys
ordered WRONG clutch for 120 series,so I had to wait again 2 weeks for the
right clutch to come....our is much bigger i was told so

I suppose it depends on the engine in the 70 series but you might have more
luck with a 60 series? Might be a good question for MUD but my guess is its
not going to be worth the work.

Hi Jon
Thanks for the lead. Will have a look at it.
Have pumped too much cash into the current vehicle to warrent changing it :)
Cheers

Thanks . Agree a wrecked 80 series manual is what I'd need for the
transformation.
A recon'd auto would probably be OK for my immediate requirements
