Well I wish I never said I prefer manual, and it looks as if its 2 of us
against 100 others. As for fuel consumption, remember that I have a
different engine to all you other 80 owners and my consumption is great at
about 29mpg (records kept in litres/100km of course). Not bad for a 12 valve.
But I don't get above 90kmh most days except one short stretch of motorway
when I can get to 120 for about 3 km.
I use a low spec 'snooper' radar/gatso/laser detector from Halfords and its
great, especially with lasers as that is the most popular hand held gun
they use here. Only problem is signals from automatic shop door openers,
but I know when they are coming up in my scanner on my regular trips.
Luckily we have no gatsos - yet. But the local police find it easier to
hassle motorists than catch the real criminals here, cos the real ones have
a far greater firepower than they ! We had an EUFOR Peacekeepers arms
search of the house the other day cos they said that someone in the area
was discharging a weapon ! Well they should come round more often, like
every Saturday for the local weddings let alone the public holidays. But I
digress, sorry.
Cheers

'92 HZJ80 ex UN surplus in Bosnia - where, you taxpayers (incl me) may be
interested to know, since the peacekeeping force has changed from NATO led
to EU led. There is an influx of M class Mercedes with 'EUFOR' number
plates. Obviously a classier type of peacekeeper we have now ;o)

that's the difference, yah see? you have a different engine....
I wouldn't mind doing a spot of Tsunami assistance to be honest - do
something useful for someone else for a change, but da boss probably
won't allow me out of the prison to do it...

Jon give me a manual any day!
I'm not trying to wind anyone up but..PERSONALLY of course, I wouldn't touch
an auto unless I did the M25 run every day. I drove a couple of auto's
before I looked for my manual.
I like to have full control over the gearbox and drive, anyway you look at
it, you don't have those options with and auto and you don't have the same
control without a clutch.
And yes, all of you with an Auto can laugh at me when I have to change the
clutch!
The manual is not a fast (change into second) box to say the least! Trojan
fully synthetic helps a lot.
Now I have wound 95% of you up-happy Easter and get your orders in for the
LEDS soon.
Cheers

Sorry to disappoint, I have an auto but agree with you. I bought an auto
because I couldn't find a decent manual.
