BEB's

What would I expect to pay to have the BEB's changed?
Pete

Peter,
Yes, unless presented with a clear evidence they have been changed,
but the job is not really a big deal.
If you want a reliable engine with that sort of mileage be prepared to
dig deeper and find even more work to be required (like injectors,
compression, valve adjustment, etc).
Or you can always hope for the best of luck and try to find out how
far you can go without investing any money.

What I meant was how much would it cost to have a mech change the bearings?

Peter,
This is no big deal, any good mechanic could do it in a day, if a
longish one, there will be a dead period in the middle while he waits
for the correct parts.

Even my Local Toyota told me it might take them a half day to put new BEBS
in which I thought was quite good.
And the Toyota parts (shells) are not too pricy either , the cost is much
better before than after.

Peter,
Assuming no problems it's around a 3-4hr job, the big problem is checking the bearing sizes and ordering them in which can take anything from 24hrs to several days depending on stocks. Also get the bolts changed at the same time.

Julian
