Big motor problem

Benoit,
Without trying to guess the source of the noise, and provided it is
1hd-t engine, it can be fitted with new cylinder liners. Besides the
cylinders can be rehoned (re-molinned?). You only need to ensure that
correct piston rings are fitted following the operation. They normally
come is several standard sizes.
What about tappet noise? Has it been checked?

Hello the guys,
I have my 1992 HDJ80 it makes 3 years now and she have 300,000 km on her. The service is always been good. Recently I have changed the "bushings of piston rod at the crankshaft" for all the cylinders. All the oil pressures is good even if startup cold.
But there is a sinistre noise gaining amplitude since all 3 years. She goes clack clack clack in the morning when cold. Even when warm up well, she still goes clack clack clack even louder when I let my foot off after giving her a little big rev up.
My buddy has many cars in pieces actually but put many back together niclelly, and he thinks it is a piston that is maybe cracked and making some gifle "slap?" in it's surrounds. On the French lists they say that the block must be replaced because it can not be re-molinned with a honer. So a new block her ein France is over 5000 euros just parts. This much money sucks.
But she has very good power and I can not hear any one piston slacking when I drive her. This is a puzzle to me.

Benoit,

Not very familiar with you engine but I would suggest you consider a
compression test, also take the oil filler cap off and check for too much
blow past (gases leaking past the piston).

Hello Benoit,
It sounds like your buddy or the French listers could be on the right track,
but in the mean time I would check valve clearances (as Roman said) and
injectors.
But then again it could also be damaged injector pump, timing gears, main
bearings, clutch etc. etc.
Try using a long screwdriver as a stethoscope to listen to different parts
of the engine whilst you get an assistant to rev it on and off. You might
get a better idea where your noise is coming from.
Best of luck,
Toby

Lubo, Benoit,
"the web page is in Garman but you understand most of the items:
http://www.hvd-japanparts.com/- yours is 'zilinderkopf'"
I'm sorry to say the zilinderkopf at 1250 euros is the cylinderhead not the
block. They don't appear to list the block on their website (that I can
find).

OK
looks like I've misunderstood the case, but anyway the guy has almost
everything for any 'japs' car and on descent prises
cheers
