First of all, I can see why so many people rave about these out here, i've only had it a day and i've already replaced a bunch of service bits and been on desert adventures without disaster!

I want the have a fuel can mount (the later ones had the option of one from factory, I believe) on the smaller rear door, my question is, can I swap the door with the mount on it onto mine from a later one? I have looked at a bunch of them in the junkyards last night and they all seem to be built into the hinge but on the door side, so is it a case of unpinning the small door and swapping it over complete?

Thanks,

James.

It all depends what is legal in KSA or wherever you are.

Fuel cans mounted on the rear, especially petrol, is a disaster waiting to happen IMO, should there be a rear end shunt.

As for the technicalities of whether you have to swap the whole door or not, I have no idea, sorry.

I like your enthusiasm, all Cruisers are awesome, and a 70 shortie is no exception. Welcome to the forum James!
