Michel, can you give us some more information please ?
What are the problems you are having ? Are the discs wearing out ( beccoming thin) , are they warping ( getting bent ) ?
Have you owned the vehicle from new ?
Have you always had brake problems ?
What pads are you using - Toyota or other make?
When did you last change the brake fluid. ?
How many garages have attempted to fix your problem ?
What did they do ?
The brakes on a correctly maintained 80 or 100 series Landcruiser are perfectly adequate to stop the vehicle when fully laden and / or with a braked trailer.
Please indicate where you are - country / city.

Hi Michael
Sure if Toy are saying that ans the parts are Toy see if they will give it
to you in wtiting that they have designed an inadiquate safety system/parts
for their own vehicle and so they will need to keep replacing them at their
expense. That sound like a weird statement for them to make.

Michel,
Sounds an odd one. I would be inclined to complain to the Toyota
regional head quarters to see what they have to say.
One thing to look at, are the wheel nuts being over tightened with an
air gun - some say this can cause the rotors to warp.
The brake pads on the 80s have squeal shims on them so if they do start
to wear out you hear the squeal first before any damage is caused.
As a last straw, you might want to look into getting higher performance
disk - search for DBA in Australia.
One final point, are the brakes actually warping (you can check this
using a dial guage) or could it be something related to the ABS?

Sounds an odd one. I would be inclined to complain to the Toyota=0D
regional head quarters to see what they have to say.=0D
=0D
One thing to look at, are the wheel nuts being over tightened with an=0D
air gun - some say this can cause the rotors to warp. Will check.=0D
=0D
The brake pads on the 80s have squeal shims on them so if they do start=0D
to wear out you hear the squeal first before any damage is caused.=0D
YES mine also, but the car is aircon and you never hear them wistling.=0D
=0D
As a last straw, you might want to look into getting higher performance=0D
disk - search for DBA in Australia.=0D
=0D
One final point, are the brakes actually warping (you can check this=0D
using a dial guage) or could it be something related to the ABS?=0D
Can you tell how thick it should be new ?=0D

Hi Michel,
Sorry, no idea - a dealer should be able to tell you.
You can check for warping using a dial guage in a fixed position (like
clamped on the axle) and then angle it against the disk.
