Brake problem - MBC?

Peter,
I can't remember what I paid at the time in Scotland but in the end had to
get it done at a Toyota dealer (but it was a pretty pence).
The mistake I make (at time did all front axle rebuild, rotors/calipers
etc.) was to allow all the brake fluid to drain out. Rebleeding the new
system didn't work. I got a MBC repair kit (pistons, rubber seals) etc. from
Christo but couldn't get that to work so in the end had to bite the bullet.
At the time I didn;t have the FSM so may not have done it right.
I still have the origonal MBC with the repaired kit lying around and u're
welcome to take it and see if u can get it working. U will need the FSM
(could copy pages etc.) to bench bleed etc. If u can get it working u can
send me some UK food supplies (T-bags etc.
I'll have to post from Colorado.
However b4 that u need to check (several steps in FSM to go thru) that its
not something else.

Changed all the brake pads on the 80 today, took it for a test run and
the brake pedal goes straight to the floor! There is braking but not much,
and there is back pressure on the pedal, but it still goes to the floor.
Now, I didn't disconnect any hoses, there are no leaks that I can see
and the brakes were working perfectly before I changed the pads. So why does
it now seem that there is a huge amount of air in the system?
I shall get an ezibleed tomorrow and flush the fluid through as it
looks a bit dark anyway but I'm just intrigued as to why it happened.
Any thoughts?

Lights gone

Hi Guys
Seems to be that kind of day problems and all. Well heres mine imstill with the misses, na only messing. I was out untill now collecting the young fella from his friends house about 15 miles away , on the way back on these lovely bendy roads on full beam, all went black. Well I wont say what was said but instinct took over and I went to dipped . The problem is all the four head lights just went off altogether, are gone all the head beams, WHY. As usual I dont know why I have dipped and no head beam in all four .

FSM has no helpful hints, expect for bleeding the system and checking
routines, which little aplly to this problem.
Have you checked if the brake booster is air tight?

Peter,
I would be inclined to go for a full bleed and fluid change - it is
amazing how much crap gets shunted around the brake system when you put
new pads in.
Don't forget to bleed the proportioning valve on the rear axle - call
me if you want to be talked through it.
