JB, I am one of those skinflints who fits alternative brake parts
with no problems, and remember I use them in the Balkans, a bit
steeper and more stressful than Eire. I have Brembo (very good
quality) discs and Jap4X4 (of Brum) pads. Both on for 4 years with
absolutely no problem. As Julian suggests, it is more like the fitter
not putting the discs on properly. A good fitter would run them in
for a few miles before handing the vehicle back to the owner. But we
get back to your Yaris mechanic problems there though don't we ! You
still need to find a professional fitter I am afraid.
