Hi Guys
Been trying to get some breakdown insurance or the cruiser without success.
It seems that once its over 15 years old your knackered.
The other issue is when I do find some that I think may be ok I have to be a
resident of the UK, so again I'm knackered.
Any body any ideas.
cheers

If all you want is breakdown cover why not join the AA? The .ie website
says that you are covered for *any* car in which you are travelling, and
includes cover for RoI, NI and mainland GB (which I presume is what you
want). I can't see anything about vehicle age in their Ts and Cs.
See http://www.aaireland.ie/contact/termsconditions.asp
They'll rescue you and take you to a garage, or home if you've signed up
for that service (called "Relay" in GB). This seems to include
repatriation from UK to RoI so long as you have taken the vehicle
yourself and have ferry tickets etc to prove it.
However if it is some sort of mechanical warranty you are after then
forget it - no one will cover you once you reach around 10 years / 120k
miles.
