Caliper seal kit

Does anyone have the Toyo part number for the rear brake calliper seal kit
and for the pistons?

There was no issue with simply swapping the pistons and seals? You obviously
don't have to replace the entire caliper just because the pistons are
corroded?
Pete

Toyota are saying Friday at the earliest for the calliper seal kit and
pistons.
Milner are out of stock of rear discs.
B****r!!!!

Not at all sure as I haven't stripped them off yet.
All that I know for sure is that 4 weeks ago everything was fine, plenty of
meat on the pads whereas today I have no disc left! I would assume from that
that it's pistons locking on rather than sliders but maybe that's na=EFve?

Hi Guys
Had the same issue with mine I think last year or maybe the year before but
Toyota freed the piston only for it to seize again.
Ended up buying a caliper from Milner because unless you can do things
yourself it costs too much for labour than buying a new part.
cheers

You could be psychic - jammed slide pin, I had to hammer the bugger out.
Outer pad worn to metal, inner is fine with pleanty of pad material left on.
I always remove the rear caliper to check as it's so easy to do.
Caliper piston seems ok, at least it slid back in OK and the boot seems
fine.
Milner have found me two discs so they are on their way along with a set of
pads
Magic!! Could be OK for the weekend after all.

The most common problem with the rear brakes is the carrier bolts seizing resulting in the inner pad wearing away and ultimately if not caught in time the pad can slide out of the calliper and either jam between the calliper and disk or drop out all together so you end up with the piston acting directly on the disk.
Pete's problem of severely worn outer pad is rarer and normally caused by the inner pad rusting onto the pad holder so when the brake piston pushes against it only the outer pad wears.
Pete, the key thing is to use a file to clean up any rust where the pads sit and clean off the little silver
Clips - if you don't have any clips get some, and put some coppereaze on both sides of the clips, it will slow down further rusting under them and help the pads to slide towards the disks.

The pads all seemed to be free and no obvious problem except for one seized
slider pin.
Both sides are now stripped, calipers wire brushed and sanded, little
clippie things shining like a new pin, well almost.
Cruiser is sitting on axle stands waiting for Mr Citylink to deliver the
discs and pads from Milners.

Rear brakes are done. Shiney new discs and pads so should be OK for the
weekend now.
Bouyed up by this excellent result I may have a go at freeing the rear
difflock actuator tomorrow. :)
