Now dont go start telling me its not that cold where I am
compared to real cold weather like you have there, where real men are men
and swim in the icy rivers just to cool down. All I will say is its just the
kids and the wife that feel the cold and Im sticking to that story. Would
this kind of use for the cig lighter blow up my cruiser, should I move on to
sheep skin undies for everyone instead.

No JB, real men out here take refuge over a Guinness in the Irish bar and
watch the 6 nations wearing their Cotton Traders national shirts to get the
beer free;-) (I only have Ireland and Scotland shirts - very selective).
And also the military unfortunately have no extras like heated seats in
their 80's.
I think you will have to look carefully at your current draw and put in a
separate supply. Most modern cars have a higher rated socket with something
like '25 amp outlet' written beside them. The ciggy lighter is not really
meant for heavy stuff on a continuous load. Also a lot of these accessory
sockets have the - I think - iso style plug with a narrow shank at the tip
that has better contacts. But I am sure others will tell you more about
them than me.
And to answer Anthony's point, I agree that its always fun to help give the
missus a scratch when the woolly stuff gets too much for her.
Cheers

Hi There Guys
I was looking at a post over the last few days on 80s cool Aus and there
seems to be suspicion that the 80s have a problem with cracks in the chasis
frame at the steering box. I would be interested to know if any one has come
across this issue before. Just a little thing that maybe we should all check
out.

John.
Some Ozzies tend to put there vehicles under prolonged intense stresses,
some thing to do with covering vast distances quickly over arduous terrain.
I doubt that you need be too concerned. I think that manufacturers instead
of testing vehicles themselves should just give them to those in Van
Damien's Land free and they will find the faults very quickly and give them
plenty of air time. How is the itching? Sheep's wool is exothermic when it
gets wet, so perhaps it's not such a bad idia!

It means to give out heat. Like when say an acid and a base are mixed one
of the bi products is heat.
