Hi all,

The 40 main tank doesn't look all that good inside.
I had to open the top to look at the sender unit - UGLY inside
tweak the rusted sender unit to give me a rough fuel level but needs replacing
what you do in my situation
Cheers
Pauly

You get like a epoxy resin that can coat the inside of tanks that stops leaks and prevents the rust getting to the fuel.

I'm wondering if a visit to your local cold dip galvanizer might give you better than new ?

Hi Paul,

I used the petrol tank sealer by POR-15 in 2009 (10 years ago). No problems. The stuff is superb but, as with all POR products, follow the steps/instructions and they work.

Regards,

Rodger

Some good options there guys
Thank you, I look into it further
Cheers

Pauly one old trick was to put some fuel in the tank with a slack handful of small nuts and washers shake the tank for a while to loosen off the rusty crap drain and remove nuts and washers let it dry out add some more fuel or kero check for leaks for the repair if you can find an old fella who knows tinning that would be better for the tank then seal the inside
