Clunk in gearbox 100 series 2002 TD Auto

Hi, I’ve got this 100 series and love it. It’s done 485,000 Klm and still drives well only that I have a clunk when I’m driving along and I put my foot down and it clunks when going back a gear. Even when I’m just cruising and then put my foot down a little it will do it. Not all the time, just every now and then.
I have changed bushes and engine mounts but still does it. My mechanic thinks it could be transmission!
any thoughts?

Hi there,
I have a similar problem with my 2003 100, my mechanic it also saying it could be clutch plate or gearbox service.
Did you find out what caused your clunking noise?
