I doubt that altitude would affect it.
We go up to a tad over 2000m with no effect on either Prados or
non-turbo 80's & 75's. Apart from auto boxes of which I know nothing
(except to keep the ATF sweet), I would look at the engine
mechanicals and control circuits via a dealer diagnostic test on a
dynamometer. FWIW
