Good man JB, go for it !
You must have the swivel seals, stupid not to fit them for the cost. The
wheel bearings plus bearing seal you should already have 'in stock' in the
back of the 80. But more important is a new locking tab plus spare for the
wheel bearing nuts. You also need a dirty great socket for the wheel
bearing nut, but maybe your man will have one. The swivel bearings are easy
to keep in stock and like the wheel bearings they are cheap from quality
manufacturers like SKF or Toyo, Timken. As for the shims, don't go to Toy
for them. Its best to buy sheets of shim steel from an engineering supplies
place. They are easy to punch out.
Remember the spring balance for the pre-load. Replace all bearing races as
well as the rollers and take the numbers off of them and the seals (or the
new ones) so you can order spares form a bearing supplier at 20% the cost
of Toy next time.
Happy fitting JB - I knew you would have a go !
Cheers
